Ingredients 

  • 2 tsp oil  
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic  
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped onion 
  • 7 - 8 curry leaves 
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder 
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder 
  • 8 - 10 prawns marinated in lemon and salt 
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper juliennes 
  • 1 tbsp coconut milk 
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ cup cucumber slices  
  • 1 tsp finely chopped coriander 
  • 1 tsp finely chopped mint 
  • ½ lemon juice 
  • Crushed black pepper to taste
  • 2 idli 
  • Cherry tomato as required
For sauce
  • 1 tbsp coconut milk 
  • 1 tsp finely chopped garlic 
  • 1 tsp finely chopped coriander 
  • ½ tsp saffron 
  • Black salt to taste
  • ¼ lemon juice 
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes 
  • 1 tsp oil  
For garnish 
  • Cucumber slices as required

Method

  • To make the filling; in a pan add oil, finely chopped garlic, finely chopped onion, curry leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, marinated prawns, green bell pepper juliennes, coconut milk, salt, cucumber slices, finely chopped coriander, finely chopped mint, lemon juice and crushed black pepper and let it cook.
  • Add this filling on one idli and the cover with the other idli. Pierce a skewer stick through the idli sandwich and then add cherry tomato.
  • To make the sauce; in a bowl add coconut milk, finely chopped garlic, finely chopped coriander, saffron, black salt, lemon juice, chilli flakes and oil and mix.
  • Place the idli sandwich on a plate and serve it with the prepared sauce.
  • Decorate the plate with cucumber slices.
