Poha Chivda


  • 2 cup nylon poha
  • Oil to deep fry
  • ½ cup peanuts
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • 4 - 5 green chilies
  • ½ medium size dry coconuts
  • ¾ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp roasted chana dal
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 medium sized potatoes (fried) (salti)
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar optional


  • Dry roast the poha, in a kadai over a medium heat until crisp
  • Heat oil and deep fry the peanuts
  • Heat oil in a pan; add mustard seeds, green chilies, coconut slices and turmeric powder
  • Add roasted poha and mix
  • Add roasted chana dal, fried peanuts, salt, red chili powder and mix
  • Add potato Sali and mix well
  • You can add sugar if you wish
  • Serve
